Alasdair has lived in the Stirling area for nearly 40 years, both in rural and urban communities. He has worked in both the public and third sectors, these jobs have included water treatment, waste disposal and recycling, setting up and running a bicycle reuse project (Recyke-a-bike) and recently leading a team supporting charities. Alasdair was retired before being elected a Councillor on Stirling Council in 2017. Alasdair is the Fairtrade councillor for Stirling Council.
A Trustee since April 2015, Emma brings a wealth of knowledge from human resource practices to operations and office management. With over 10 years’ experience within the third sector, she provides a comprehensive understanding of the governance requirements of the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR). As a member of our Finance and HR sub groups, Emma contributes wholeheartedly to the ongoing work of Town Break.
Stephanie has been a Trustee since early 2018. She has worked in the voluntary sector, specifically for sensory impairment in a fundraising capacity for over six years and now holds the role of Fundraising Manager for a large charity. Stephanie has personal experience of dementia through family.
David is a chartered accountant and is now semi-retired, having worked both in the private sector and latterly in NHS Scotland for 21 years. He has experience of health economics, having served on the Scottish Medicines Consortium, as well as specialised knowledge of charity accounting and governance.
Eva has been a Trustee since November 2018. She has worked in the private and public sector in the UK and abroad and has experience in financial management, project and programme management and business planning. Eva currently works for the Oil and Gas Authority and sits on the board of one other charity.
Christine became a Trustee in 2018. She is a registered social worker and has worked in a range of roles in health and social care organisations. Christine has a long-standing interest in dementia and has direct experience of its impact from her own family. She is committed to strengths-based approaches and to working with citizens on service design and improvement. Christine works with Healthcare Improvement Scotland and is directly involved in the national programme to reform adult social care.
Louise has been a Trustee since June 2018 and brings a wealth of knowledge from the NHS in terms of systems and process and is experienced in the charity sector having opened and managed after school care for primary school age children in Falkirk. She is a member of our Finance and HR sub groups. She is an administrator with Police Scotland with a previous role being Head of Administration for NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde.
Juli has only just joined Town Break as a Trustee. She has worked as part of the Additional Support Needs team working for Stirling Council. More recently she has cared for a family member with dementia. She has benefited hugely from the services Town Break have provided over the last few years and is very much looking forward to contributing to the continuing success of Town Break.
Leigh joined the Board in May 2018. She has nine years’ experience in working with volunteers and service delivery in a range of roles in local government and public sectors.
