Day Club

Person-centred support is at the heart of each Day Club - it is our aim to ensure that all people living with dementia are treated as an individual, with respect and dignity.  We aim to focus on the person as an individual rather than focusing on their illness or on abilities they may, or may not have lost.

Instead of treating the person as a collection of symptoms and behaviors, at the Day Club we see the whole person, taking into account each individual's unique qualities, abilities, interests, preferences and needs. As such all clients have access to a wide range of projects which are centred around their personal interests and abilities.

Occasionally we provide outings to places that are of interest to those attending the Day Club, such as museums and garden centres, and Dementia Screenings at the Macroberts art venue in Stirling.

Not only does the Day Club service support people who have dementia in a group setting, it also enables carers to have a few hours respite each week.

All staff and volunteers receive full training on how to provide person centred care for individuals living with dementia, receive moving and handling training, and have extensive PVG checks.
