Gail is responsible for leading overall service delivery and strategic development of the charity. She also has the day to day responsibility for recruiting and managing staff, and sourcing and managing funding. She has been in post since 2013 and has grown and developed Town Break in conjunction with the Board of Trustees and has relished this opportunity. Gail has worked in the voluntary sector for over 15 years, and before this worked in a variety of health promotion settings. She also has a business background, having run her own business for a number of years.
Christine manages our team of co-ordinators who deliver various dementia services to families throughout the Stirling Council area. In her role, she ensures that suitable services are delivered at the appropriate time for each individual referred to Town Break. Christine has 20 years of experience working in the voluntary sector and brings with her a wealth of knowledge.
Daniel is Town Break's Strategy and Engagement Officer. With input from the wider team, he leads on the strategic direction of Town Break, developing new and existing relationships with key stakeholders. Daniel is excited to utilize his professional skills to develop existing and new services for people living with dementia. Daniel has worked in the voluntary sector for over 10 years and also volunteers at a European level where he is committed to engagement and paediatric support.
Kath manages the finance for Town Break, covering everything from paying volunteers expenses and invoices, developing budgets and preparing financial reports, through to working with our Treasurer to submit our annual accounts. She also supports the admin for the team, helping them with handouts, letters and any reporting paperwork. Kath has worked in the voluntary sector for over 20 years and was previously a board member here at Town Break for nearly 5 years.
Dawn helps organise our Stirling and Callander Day Clubs. Dawn helps organise a range of stimulating and meaningful activities for Town Break members. She is supported in her role by her colleague Davina and a band of dedicated volunteers. Dawn also support clients' families and carers, offering support and signposting to other agencies and charities that can also offer help and support. Dawn has a nursing background and has cared for people with dementia for over 14 years and finds it very rewarding. Dawn has worked for Town Break since 2018.
After four years of being a loyal volunteer with Town Break, Davina was welcomed as a member of staff in November 2018. Davina helps organise a range of stimulating and meaningful activities for Town Break members. She is supported in her role by her colleague Dawn and a band of dedicated volunteers. Davina also supports clients' families and carers, offering support and signposting to other agencies and charities that can also offer help and support. Davina has a background in banking, the for last few years of her career there she was the Area Charity Ambassador.
Eileen has responsibility for the Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) and Self-Management groups. CST is a rolling programme of short sessions in small groups using activities to stimulate memory and thinking. The Self-Management Group meets weekly for coffee at the Smith Art Gallery and bridges the gap between CST and other services.
